BIOGRAPHY
Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos is a multicultural, Franco-Swiss artist, who born in Paris in 1947, she divides her time between Cyprus and Paris. She studied Art at the ENSAD National School of Decorative Arts in Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) and the Académie Charpentier, also in Paris. In 2016, she walked away with both the 1st Salon d' Automne prize 2016 and the Christiane Peugeot prize. She was enthralled with drawing and colour from a very early age, and the power and energy that radiates from her work reflect her spirited and generous nature.
She was lucky to have some Master as teacher such Yves Bryer, Maxime Old, Despierre, Laurent Okroglic With her work, Michele takes us to the world of Calliope, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Terpsichore, and Lacan.
Francis Picabia once entitled one of his paintings "Music is like painting", and so it is with the works of Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos, where drawing, colour, text, movement, dance and music combine to treat the viewer to an ongoing play on a theatre stage. In her works, figures are busy dancing, reciting, protesting, accusing, asserting or simply having fun, borne along by a setting and context that is often linked to current affairs in France and abroad.
Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos's plays on words distil essential messages: those of a free-thinking woman and artist swept along by a lifelong passion. Michele demonstrates how much she has become a citizen of the world with her paintings, which burst with colour and vibrancy. Her work expresses its strength through its narrative design. Haviland, the famous Limoges porcelain maker, has edited a collection from the work of Michele Ansermet Papadopoulos titled: GOURMET POP, a collection presented all over the world. Some of her last solo exhibition took place in Vevey Switzerland at Ferrari Art Gallery then in Nicosia at Alpha CK art gallery, in Limassol at Saint Raphael tower and Marina
She have exhibited all over the world, France, Cyprus, England, China, Japan, Switzerland and much more. Her next exhibition will take her in Alsace France where she will be « Guest of honore «
ARTISTIC APPROACH The paintings of Michele Ansermet Papadopoulos, colorful and joyful in appearance, carry within them, through the words and slogans inscribed, a series of messages and a call to civic conscience, but not only, it could be as well, educational Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos is deliberately ironic and political by referring to the realities of the contemporary world.
Through her paintings, she seeks to inform about injustices, has pointed out international scandals,
