Roy BAIERLEIN
Master watchmaker
Roy BAIERLEIN, trained at the prestigious National Watchmaking School of Cluses (Haute-Savoie), opened his first watchmaking workshop in the heart of Avignon in 1983, together with his wife Valérie, who also graduated from this school.
In 2009, eager to expand their activities, the couple acquired the Moulin de Valobre in Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue, relocating their workshops, training center, boutique, and manufacturing facility there.
Master watchmaker Roy Baierlein has been doubly honored with the Medal of Artisan Recognition, and his workshop has been awarded the prestigious Living Heritage Company (EPV) label three times.
A prolific author of articles and books on watchmaking techniques and the history of timekeeping, and a renowned lecturer for over twenty years, Roy Baierlein uniquely approaches the complex notion of time. Far from the often daunting technical aspects, he prefers to intertwine the history of science, inventors, religions, and philosophy to explore the many facets of this enigma that has fascinated humanity for centuries.
