Aurelia ROCHER
Visual Artist
Aurélia Rocher is a visual artist born in 1978 in Paris, graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Marseille in 2007, she now works in the South of France.
She touches on the Living, whether it is emerging, growing and powerful, or gone. It was at university that she acquired this sensitivity to the environment in the first sense of the term: a set of natural and cultural conditions likely to act on living organisms and human activities. She first focused on biology at the University of Marseille, where she obtained a degree, then completed her studies with a degree in ethnology to end up joining the Beaux-Arts.
All this knowledge-rich journey has developed in her an increased attention to detail. She questions herself about the infinitely large and the infinitely small, about these worlds that are beyond us, these codes and rituals that we establish to live or survive, these stem cells that inhabit us and distinguish us. It is a philosophy close to Asian spirituality, the continent on which she lived for 6 years. Since then, her pieces have been like catalysts for this breath of life, embodied as much in clay as in stoneware, photography, drawing and installations. She places her artistic research in an evolutionary cycle where her new works are mutations of old pieces. The latest one is called "Blooming, What ever it takes".
